We’re All Broken! God Will Put Us Back Together!

I read recently that God will put us back together, right in front of the ones who broke us.

We’re all broken. We are sinners in need of a Savior. That Savior is Jesus. He was born, crucified, buried, and raised from the dead for each of us.

What does it mean to be “put back together?”

Mend, heal, reconstruct, repair, reform, restore, renew, and revive are all synonyms found in the thesaurus.

Jeremiah 17:14 NIV Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for You are the one I praise.

We’re All Broken! God Will Put Us Back Together!

John Gill’s Exposition of the Bible puts it this way “These are the words of the prophet, sensible of his own sins and backslidings, and of the part which he himself had in these corrupt and declining times; and being conscious of his own impotency to cure himself; and being fully satisfied of the power of the Lord to heal him; and being well assured, if he was healed by him, he should be thoroughly and effectually healed; therefore he applies unto him. Sins are diseases; healing them is the forgiveness of them; God only can grant this: or this may have respect to the consolation of him, whose soul was distressed, grieved, and wounded, with the consideration of the sins of his people, and the calamities coming upon them on that account.”

Psalm 6:2 NIV Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am faint; heal me, LORD, for my bones are in agony.

Isaiah 57:18-19 NIV I have seen their ways, but I will heal them; I will guide them and restore comfort to Israel’s mourners, creating praise on their lips. Peace, peace, to those far and near,” says the LORD. “And I will heal them.”

Everything revolves around our attitude. What is your attitude? Is it self-esteem? Self-esteem is an attitude toward self.

Maybe your attitude is love. Love is our attitude toward others. Faith is our attitude toward God. Hope is our attitude toward the future.

When we look at our attitude, we can see just how open we are to the healing power of Jesus.

In these words of the Selah song “Lord, I Trust You,” we find an attitude of humbly trusting God. No matter what!

Make this your prayer today.

Lord, I Trust You

It may not seem I have what it will take
I fear that in the face of trial I’ll break
Any troubles just a day away
Lord, I trust You

The best and worst of days are yet to come
Be glorified regardless of the cost
Be magnified whether joy or loss
Lord, I trust You

Lord, You are life inside the fire.
Lord, You are the grace that rises higher
Oh there will never be the day that You are not with me
Oh Lord, I trust You

I believe but help my unbelief
Help me go wherever You will lead
Do with me whatever You will please
Lord, I trust You

Lord, You are life inside the fire.
Lord, You are the grace that rises higher
Oh there will never be the day that You are not with me
Oh Lord, I trust You

I can’t find the strength to pray
All seems lost and it’s too late, oh-ohh
Cannot fear what comes my way
Find me faithful in the day, oh-ohh
‘Cause the only hope I have is
You will be enough

Lord, You are life inside the fire.
Lord, You are the grace that rises higher
Oh there will never be the day that You are not with me
Oh Lord, I trust You
Oh Lord, I trust You
