Just As I Am – The Way To Salvation In Christ

Have you ever listened to the words of a song and had those words completely fill you?

Have you listened to the words of the song and truly felt overpowering presence of Jesus in your life?

The words to the song, “Just As I Am,” can do just that. This song was written by Charlotte Elliott in 1836. Through its words, we find the path to salvation through Christ.

Just as I am is the way that God receives all of us. We don’t have to clean up our act. We don’t have to change our lives to come to Christ. That was all done on the cross. Jesus took all of our sins upon Himself and died for us.

Read the words of this beautiful hymn:

Just As I Am

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that thy blood was she’d for me,
And that Thou bidd’st me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

Just as I am, and waiting not,
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

Just as I am, tho’ tossed about,
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings within and fears without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

Just as I am, Thou wilt recieve,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve,
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

Billy Graham was so moved by the words to this song, he used it in the altar calls during his crusades.

If you have never come to the saving grace of Jesus Christ, these words and take them into your heart. Jesus is waiting for you to say, “just as I am I come to you Lord.”
